Amendment XI 

The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State.

In sum, the eleventh amendment sets limiting powers on federal courts to hear lawsuits from a citizen of a state different from theirs.




The video reinforces the information in the amendment stating that a citizen can only bring a case to trail against another state IF the state agrees.
Amendment X 
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

This allows for each state to present their laws best for the people. The states do not have to follow the laws set by other states.



The video explains what the amendment truly means. It is a good video that does not require a great deal of time to explain.
Amendment IX 
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

This states that we as people have rights that are not stated in the Constitution and cannot be denied or violated. 


This video is a short clip that gives a direct explanation of the ninth amendment.
Amendment VIII  

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

This amendment is pretty self-explanatory. It protects citizens from cruel and unusual punishment as well as no excessive fines.


This video gives a good visual of what cruel and unusual punishment is. It only provides examples of physical unusual punishment, but what about the verbal and nonphysical unusual punishment?
Amendment VII  

In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

This allows for one's civil claim to be tried in court with the right of trial by jury.



This video gives a real-world example of the seventh amendment.

Amendment VI  

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

The sixth amendment gives a person the right to a speedy and fair trial. It is created to prevent person from spending long amounts of time in prison without a trial.



I like this video because it breaks down each section of the amendment. It speaks about the location in which a persons trial can and/or will be held. It also says how a trial may be moved under special circumstances.
Amendment V 
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

The fifth amendment allows for a person not to be forced to criminalize themselves by saying anything that may be used against them. Also, it protects one from being punished twice for one crime. This allows for a person to go to trial once for one crime they may have committed.
