We the People

Preamble

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."


The preamble is a literal interpretation of the idea that our founding fathers had in mind for a prosperous United States. It gives citizens guidelines to follow to try and "form a more Perfect Union." The rules placed in the preamble are still in effect today for the most part. The biggest issue that arises and stands in between us as people pushing through and practicing the guidelines presented, is that we struggle at times to come together as one. If we could come together as one then the constitution could remain pure and effective.





I like this video because it is a great interpretation of the preamble. The narrator dives deep into each section of the preamble. It helps us as citizens understand each function and gives us an idea of how to view it as far as what it truly means. My favorite part of the video is when he points out how "We the People" is written. It is a reminder that We as citizens must become one in order to keep the preamble true and pure.
